To my surprise, Adobe GoLive was still around as an option until this week. We haven't heard much in the market, as far as demand for templates for GoLive, in a long long time.
In any case, Adobe has announced that it is discontinuing support and development of GoLive.
Well, we all here all had bets how long news of this sort of thing would take, but the reality of it has finally hit a former Yahoo big-wig.
Occasionally we get questions about having a "mobile-ready" website. The fact is, you're dealing with a 1-99 situation (at best): Dedicating 99% of your effort for 1% of possible visitors.
If you're considering devoting a bunch of time towards a separate site geared for the antiquated mobile devices, you may wish to read this article:
Oh, the anguish that the ActiveX warning caused was incredible on our end. But now that Microsoft has settled its dispute with Eolas, IE will soon not display the ActiveX Warning.
Now some 5 months in development, the 8th Generation of web template from Lucky Marble and i3dTHEMES has been launched in the Pinnacle design.
Much has gone in to refining our previous generation of product to be even more easy to use. Along with retooling the file structure of the template layout, this package also uses more advanced flash files and easier configuration techniques.
Look for many new designs as this generation of template is easy (on the design end) to create new web template designs.
Along with the new look comes new features to help shopping for web templates easier. Included with these features is a streamlined global search mechanism at the top of each page, and an "expandable" mini-cart. Due to some of the restrictions of older browsers prior to IE7 and FireFox 2, some features may be limited, however most users will find their browsing experience faster and easier.
Chief IT Coordinator, Brandon Devnich, remarks "We asked our customers what they wanted in searching for website templates. 'Fast, easy, and intuitive.' This new update to our online storefront takes an already great web experience and kicks it up a few notches."
Coming soon, i3dTHEMES will also play host to some exciting new cooperative based initiatives to help the web community grow. Look for these changes in the coming weeks.
i3dTHEMES is a division of Lucky Marble Solutions Corp, a web solutions company that focuses on Web Templates for Microsoft FrontPage, Expression Web, and Dreamweaver. Along with their web template solutions, Lucky Marble also develops a Website Plugins line of products dubbed "Dynamo" (DYNAmic MOdules) which add power and versatility, through server side database technology, without having to spend a fortune.
With the release of Microsoft Expression Web back near the beginning of 2007, many users have been finding that their web hosting providers are no longer supporting FrontPage Extensions. This means that much used run-time elements such as "FrontPage Forms" no longer seem to function. What a drag!
As a side note for those using Microsoft Expression: You may still be able to use the "FrontPage Enabled" form in your Expression Web editor if your web host has SharePoint services enabled. Contact your web host to see if this option is available to you.
When FrontPage Extensions, SharePoint Services are not available to you: We have been suggesting that ask your web host if they have any CGI scripts that can act as a form handler -- but, in most cases it seems, hosting companies don't have a CGI form handler that you can point your form to. What a pain!
Our solution: We've decided to offer a form handler service, FREE OF CHARGE. It took Brandon a couple of weeks to set up, but it's ready to go in beta-release. Please understand, beta-release means it hasn't been rigorously tested, so any problems you experience please pass them along to us.
Click on the "Basic Form Handler" from the list of services currently available ("Tools" button will also be available from your members home page once you've registered)
Fill out the "Wizard", click the "Generate HTML" code
Follow the steps provided in the instructions.
We are also developing a few other free services to take the place of some of the run-time elements that FrontPage Extensions made possible.
Keep in mind, this form handler is available only to those who has purchased a product from us (FrontPage Template, Dreamweaver Template, Expression Web Template, it will work with all of them) -- it is not something we are providing to the general populous.
Any questions, problems, or feedback, please send it along to Brandon in a ticket.
Thanks to the hard work of the programmers we keep in the cave, Greg and Christa, we are proud to announce the launch of our latest module: Blog
It's just what you'd expect it should be. Take a look at the details page here: http://www.i3dthemes.com/website-plugins/dynamo_blog_v2.htm
